Burberry Porsum Autumn/Winter Show 2011

GO GO CHRISTOPHER BAILEY! Another season all wrapped up (haha) and I wish I could have been there.

Rusty, autumnal, reminding me of a pile of leaves... Why? A moss green trouser suit and a tweed trench amidst a branch of copper, cinnamon, chocolate, fawn, coffee and cocoa. It makes for a beautiful part of the collection. Let's say, hypothetically, that by the time this collection is in store I would have the dollar to buy myself a staple winter coat, this one would be first on my list.

What more can I say.. What's winter without some fur? This coat somehow reminds me of a poodle... Sleek and simple limbs, with neatly sculpted fur at the extremities. Balanced with deep plum trousers. It's just so RIGHT.

The belt makes this outfit work. Not that it would fail complaetely without it, however it would be slightly boring and a 'we've-seen-it-before-Burberry' look. I love that flares will continue into next season. Not so much in a tougher material, But I'm really into the whole silk/light cotton flares. And serious covering-of-the-foot flares as well. Sooo gonna get myself a high-street version of these deep greens!

Serious monochrome, a splash of Dalmation, and all wrapped up in fur. This could be a caption for the final half of Bailey's collection. Still keeping a classic British touch of checks and tweed, Burberry's trench is yet again styled to suit a new season. The above is one of my favourite from the show. Stark contrast, and yet the tones flow from one to another so easily. I guess it's the fur, but the transition between black and white is soft and easy.

Kind of rings a bell with this coat... although minus the evil murderous ideology under which it was created...
