Topshop UNIQUE London Fashion Week A/W 2011

Topshop Unique Autumn/Winter Show 2011 - LONDON

A running theme of Dalmatians and dogs. This blouse for example with a sheer dalmatian print, a thin waist belt with a dalmatian motif, beautiful silk pleated skirt and Dalmatian print shoes. Even the model's hair is pinned up as though in puppy ears, and with a black smudge on her nose it's a wonder Cruella De Ville isn't present. Well, Anna Wintour was on the first row in all her glory.

The show also stepped back to the 30s, sticking with the canine edge with a fox fur wrap (faux of course) and a gorgeous fur trim on the coat. Knee-high stockings running into classic Topshop, ribboned black platforms, brought the style right up to contemporary fashion.

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of. The Brooklyn Bridge printed onto a shift dress, the show also contained elements of Art deco (see below as well) with beautiful flowing shirts and pant combinations. One ankle length dress had a repeated pattern of 'Miami' over a sunshine yellow fabric, and another blouse stated 'Hollywood' in the classic Art Deco font so well associated with the early 20th century movement.

The final parade. A very elegant collection. One of my favourites.
